How's the week progressing? While I've been walking more, chocolate has been calling my name in a major way. I find it very difficult to ignore the craving. Evenings are the worst, unless I'm home alone, whereupon the whole time I'm home I just eat. I have yet to find the way to deal with this successfully. Anyone who wants to chime in, can!

One of my favorite foods is dark chocolate. I don't keep any in the house. I have a bag of dove pieces at work and I allow myself one a day when I work. Evenings...I spend too much time on my butt watching HGTV...and I usually am hungry before or just after I go to bed. Milk and my spouses store bought choc chip cookies are too easy to eat. Loving the warmer weather to take a walk. Peg
ReplyDeleteFitDay is a free weight loss and diet journal...which is reacommended by many of the weight loss groups. It is great for getting a calorie count for a day. You can also journal how you were feeling while you were eating. I couldn't figure out the exercise portion. Peg
ReplyDeleteHi Peg, Evenings are the most trying for me, too, or days I'm off. We do keep dark chocolate chips in the house, and I'm embarrassed to say I can eat them until I feel sick. If I manage to stay away from the chips, then salty crackers call my name. I started recording everything I eat, maybe that will help.

Thank you for letting me take a peek at your blog! The discussion so far sounds like a "Kick the Chocolate Habit" group. :-) I can readily relate to with the struggle to fight the cravings. My acupuncturist was explaining to me yesterday that our bodies crave what we aren't digesting well. So I'm trying an enzyme supplement to help with that - I'll let you know if it helps reduce the cravings.
ReplyDeleteOn the less tantalizing topic of exercise, over the last year I've been (sporadically) doing Leslie Sansone's "Walk Away the Pounds" DVDs and tapes for cardio exercise. I really enjoy them, so you might want to consider giving them a try. They're especially convenient when the weather is lousy for walking.
I am so excited to be a part of this great blog experience. I have admit I am a virgin blogger. :) I wish I just limited my eating to chocholate, ANYTHING SWEET gets me. It's even worse that I am home now more. The good news is that I am walking almost everyday!!!!
